The right system size comes down to two numbers: how much electricity you use each month, and how much roof area you have available.
As a starting point, divide your average monthly bill by your per-unit tariff to get your monthly consumption in units (kWh). A well-placed 1 kW system in most parts of India generates roughly 120 units a month, so dividing your monthly units by 120 gives a rough capacity estimate.
